Summary of Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCareer Counselors will assist clients with all manner of job search activities, including 1:1 meeting and presentations.
- Assists in training students on employment systems to assist in matching students with employment opportunities
- Refers students to employment opportunities
- Schedules and conducts office and university orientations.
- Schedules and conducts career counseling sessions.
- Schedules and conducts topical presentations on careers, job search techniques, resume development and the interview.
- Assists student with preparation and posting of resumes and job search techniques.
- Assists with various Career Services events, such as career fairs, tabling, and workshops.
- Develops job leads and utilizes a computerized on-line employment database (Handshake).
- Schedules and coordinates mock interviews.

- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum two years of professional work experience
- Evidence of exceptional interpersonal communication and public speaking skills and knowledge of current job search techniques that include preparation of resumes, cover letters, and interview skills
- Must possess the ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and relate to a diverse population
- Evidence of experience with personal computers, including word-processing, spreadsheet, database management, and the internet.
