Basic Job Description
Counsel with emphasis on recovery support and relapse prevention. Work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health. Help individuals deal with addictions and substance use disorder; family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with aging, and mental and emotional health.
· The substance abuse counselor will offer support system for people with alcohol and drug problems and other behavioral issues.
· The substance abuse counselor will implement CBT methods allowing individuals to modify their behavior with the intention of full recovery.
· The substance abuse counselor will work with consumers on an on-going basis.
