JOB SUMMARY:
The Substance Use Intervention Counselor’s main responsibilities include providing counseling services to youth and completing of required documentation. Other responsibilities include participating in Behavioral Health Treatment Team meetings when available and participating in the annual Seven Challenges Fidelity visit once per year.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provides weekly substance use treatment groups and completes all required documentation.
· Completes all required documentation per DJJ SUTS Policies 12.20, 12.25, and DJJ Policy 5.8.
· Completes initial Substance Use Intervention Treatment Plans and monthly reviews.
· Participates in treatment team meetings when available and coordinates SU treatment information to be relayed to the treatment team.
· Reviews Seven Challenges Journals and provides written feedback to youth weekly
· Participates in the Seven Challenges three-day initial training and the Annual Seven Challenges Support and Fidelity visit once per year.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in a clinical counseling-related field (E.g., Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family, Rehab. Counseling) from an accredited college or university.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master’s degree in a clinical counseling-related field (E.g., Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family, Rehab. Counseling) from an accredited college or university And One to Five years experience in the behavioral health field.
· Georgia licensure or eligible for licensure in a mental health field.
· Seven Challenges certified Counselor in a juvenile correction facility or adolescent residential treatment setting.
