The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Graduate Career Consultant (career counselor for graduate students).

Graduate Career Services (GCS) provides career-related advising and counseling to a diverse student body of some 2,200 Master and Doctoral graduate students, as well as Graduate School program alumni across engineering, science, humanities, social sciences, entrepreneurship, global affairs, data science, and more.
This Graduate Career Consultant will advise and consult with graduate students within the College of Arts & Letters on all aspects of the career development process (assessing, investigating, building, preparing, implementing, and connecting). Consultants manage a portfolio of services targeted at programs to meet the career and professional development needs of the different disciplines. Consulting goals are accomplished through large group presentations, hands-on workshops, special events, training programs, and one-on-one and small group career coaching sessions. Consultants engage with relevant constituents, including Directors of Graduate Studies, graduate student clubs, alumni, faculty and campus partners to cultivate student interest and preparedness.
Consultants report to the Associate Director of Graduate Career Services. Graduate Career Services reports into the Division of Student Affairs and The Graduate School. Graduate Career Services is part of a broader team of the Meruelo Family Center for Career Development staff based in Duncan Student Center.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree (4 years)
• Experience in career advising/development/planning or related field
• Appreciation for working with Masters and Ph.D. students through their graduate life cycle and intricacies of academic recruiting including understanding of higher education issues and the unique career needs of graduate students.
• Strong ethical standards in an effort to advocate for all students.
• Program evaluation and outcome development skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with both verbal and written communication.
• Experience providing quality presentations and workshops in small and large group formats.
• Proven project management, database management, and computer skills as well as proven analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills.
• Understanding of corporate recruiting processes and talent management through prior business/industry experience.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills, including the ability to independently prioritize work, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set goals and enforce deadlines, while maintaining the flexibility to reassess and prioritize goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years career consulting experience
• Masters degree preferred
