    Responsibilities
    Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, Graduate Business Programs and in line with the SEBA strategic plans, the Director, Graduate Career Services (DGCS) provides career planning and employment coaching with a focus on SEBA Graduate students and alumni.


    • The DGCS will provide career clarification, resume development, interview preparation, salary negotiation and advice on job promotions and professional development.
    • The DGCS will use current career development theory, knowledge and practices to coach students from diverse backgrounds.
    • The DGCS will develop and coordinate training programs and workshops to address the diverse needs of the students.
    • The DGCS will act as a representative of the SEBA Programs to employers and recruiters.
    • Must remain up to date on hiring trends and labor market research.
    1. In line with the Graduate Business Career Services strategic plan, provide career coaching:
    Provides individual and customized career coaching to SEBA graduate students and alumni. Provide SEBA undergraduate students pathways for graduate business programs.

    Process career exploration and self-assessment to clarify career goals to create an individualized career action plan that include research methods, networking, job search strategies, competency based resume writing, cover letter composition, interviewing and advanced interviewing skills.

    Available to students through video conferencing, email, and phone. Update and track student progress and outcomes

    Helps define success metrics, measure results with post-event surveys to provide reporting on the impact of graduate career services programs and experiences.

    2. Create and deliver career readiness and Job search related programming for SEBA students and alumni: Business Etiquette, Resume Writing, Interviewing, Advanced Interviewing, Job Search Strategies, Salary Negotiation, Networking. This programming will be at the group level when possible, and individualized when not.
    The position will also monitor the success of these initiatives as well as measure KPIs.

    3. Employer relationships. In collaboration with other SEBA staff and faculty, Alumni Services, program directors, and SEBA Dean, will develop and maintain effective relationships with corporate partners. This includes supporting employers who want to create student and alumni pipelines for internships, party time positions and full times positions. Also to include organizing and supporting all employer related events on campus or on Zoom as directed.

    4. Collaborate with SEBA faculty, staff, and program directors: At the request of the department director or SEBA deans, assist all graduate and undergraduate staff, faculty and PDs in their roles by creating and delivering (with them or for them) career readiness, job search, and professional development programming, mentorship programs, and experiential learning opportunities.

    5. Professional Development: Regularly attend career development conferences, workshops, and training both on-line and on site. Maintain memberships in myriad professional counseling and career counseling associations. Constantly research and stay current with career development trends, issues and theory through books, journals, on-line resources, colleagues and counseling and business journals.

    6. Create and deliver career readiness and Job search related programming for SEBA alumni: Business Etiquette, Resume Writing, Interviewing, Advanced Interviewing, Job Search Strategies, Salary Negotiation, Networking. This programming will be at the group level when possible, and individualized when not

    Experience and Qualifications
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: REQUIRED: Bachelors degree and Graduate degree in related field
    PREFERRED: MBA or other Graduate level education preferably in education or counseling.

    Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): Experience in coaching and counseling; 8 years of professional business experience is a plus; must have worked with multicultural and diverse populations from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds; experience in adult learning, group training and workshop facilitation; demonstrated experience working with corporate hiring managers to facilitate hiring of graduate students; sound understanding of the job market, labor research, employment trends; must be familiar with career coaching principles, concepts and approaches and full spectrum of job finding skills such as resume development, interview preparation, salary negotiation; strong understanding of social media and its role in employment and hiring practices

    Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical) Ability to foster relationships with students, alumni, clubs, faculty and business stakeholders. Team player with a positive, service oriented attitude; initiative, self leadership, good judgment; strategic and creative thinker; Strong business acumen and an understanding of what business students need; ability to maintain client confidentiality; Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend commitments as required.
