Director of Employer Relations for MBA programs and Specialized Masters programs at the
University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business.
Employer Relations helps employers engage with Notre Dame to support learning initiatives, access talent, and provide students with career opportunities. The director's role is to
lead the Employer Relations team in supporting and deepening existing employer relationships and developing new relationships. Responsibilities include
- creating an employer relations strategy that defines relationship protocol for employer segments and outlines tactics
- developing communications and engagement strategies that connect with recruiters and alumni
- creating a data analytics strategy that achieves engagement goals.
The director will
- be the main relationship manager for select employers,
- serve in a leadership capacity on the Career Development and Alumni Relations team, and
- represent Graduate Business Career Development in stakeholder engagement with other university groups including program leadership, career coaches, Alumni Relations, Development, graduate student clubs, and the Undergraduate Career Center.
Additional duties include:
- Leading recruiting initiatives including both in-person and virtual career fairs, deep dives, company information sessions, alumni networking events, and city treks.
- Ensuring on-campus interviews run smoothly, supporting students and employers.
- Maintaining our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to effectively connect students with opportunities.
- Leveraging data and marketplace insights to develop strategies to meet the needs of students and employers.
- Building new relationships in targeted industries and functional areas.
- Managing the assigned budget.
- Providing statistics on employment and job search status for each program, in line with the standards of our industry group, MBA CSEA (Masters of Business Administration Career Services Employer Alliance).
- Assisting the Senior Director and Career Development team as needed on a variety of projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Have a passion for and experience in employer relations or business development. This includes experience in crafting both strategy and tactics that drive employer engagement.
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to analyze data and create insights that lead to winning strategies.
- Excellent public speaking, interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills. This person will interact with employer representatives ranging from CEOs to new graduate business hires.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, including the ability to independently prioritize work, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set goals and enforce deadlines, while maintaining the flexibility to reassess and prioritize goals.
- Strong analytical skills
- Must be able to work with little direct supervision, perform under pressure, plan ahead by anticipating problems and forecasting outcomes, and deal with difficult individuals while maintaining composure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Several years of business development or sales experience in a Fortune 500 company or major university.
- Experience in hiring MBAs.
- Five to ten years of prior experience in graduate business career development, or a similar level of professional experience with recruiting or executive search, as well as supervisory experience.
- Experience with on-campus recruiting software programs. Proficiency in statistical analysis. Proficiency in database management/development.
- Experience in event management used in the business development process.
