Carpenter constructs, maintains, and remodels buildings or related structures. Installs, fixes, or modifies all aspects of a building, including walls, ceilings, floors, and stairs, as well as related structures like railings, doors, windows, and air conditioning systems. Being a Carpenter follows blueprints and plans to ensure requirements and specifications are met. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Additionally, Carpenter inspects buildings to determine repair that needs to be done. An apprenticeship and/or formal training may be required. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Carpenter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Responsible for the construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principles.

    The base compensation range for this role is $48.00-52.51 per hour.

    KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

    Set up trailers

    Study blueprints, sketches or building plans for information pertaining to the type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard. Measures the dimensions of structure of fixture to be fabricated

    Build decks, stairs, roofs and other temporary structures between office units, plan tables, install shelves, setup tool trailers and/or conex's, silt fences and/or straw bales, setup site per erosion control plan

    Hand-set forms and/or assemble the gang forms

    Assist journeyman and foreman with the shooting of grades and elevations

    Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect all prefabricated materials

    Concrete and rough carpentry

    Hand set Walls

    Footings

    Set Gang Wall Forms

    Structural Concrete Decks

    Drywall

    Finish Carpentry, doors, frames, and hardware

    Millwork and cabinetry

    Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

    All other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    High school diploma or GED (required)

    Minimum of three years of experience as a carpenter (required)

    Trade or technical school certification/diploma is a plus (preferred)

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    A. Ability to frequently work in heat and other weather conditions

    B. Frequently crouch, kneel, squat, climb

    C. Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs

    D. Frequently reach high and low places

    E. Ability to see, hear, balance, and review job sites

    F. Ability to stand and walk throughout work day

    G. Ability to use repetitive hand/arm/leg movements
