Carpenter constructs, maintains, and remodels buildings or related structures. Installs, fixes, or modifies all aspects of a building, including walls, ceilings, floors, and stairs, as well as related structures like railings, doors, windows, and air conditioning systems. Being a Carpenter follows blueprints and plans to ensure requirements and specifications are met. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Additionally, Carpenter inspects buildings to determine repair that needs to be done. An apprenticeship and/or formal training may be required. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Carpenter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Carpenter Co. is a private fleet looking to hire experienced CDL drivers and recent graduates. Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Class A CDL Truck Driver at our Elkhart, IN Foam manufacturing plant.
- Responsible for operating and maintaining a company vehicle to deliver finished products to external customers safely, on time and following company policies and government regulations within a defined geographic delivery area.
- Paid for all hours worked-Mileage-Hourly-Unloading Pay-Meals
- We also have Profit Sharing and a great Benefit Package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and paid time off (Vacation and Holidays).
- Salary 1st year average is $88,000 and higher for Road Drivers!
- Sign on Bonus and / or tuition payback details will be discussed in person
Skills / Requirements
Requirements :
- Must have a Class A CDL including Manual Transmission Endorsement, but no experience required.
- Must have an acceptable driving record.
- Must adhere to all DOT Regulations and practice safe driving techniques.
- Must maintain accurate paperwork and electronic DOT logs.
- Must unload finished product at each destination as required.
- Must be able to lift carpet cushion rolls weighing 50 to 90 lbs. each.
- Carpenter Co. conducts pre-employment drug testing on all applicants that receive and accept a written offer of employment.*
