Carpenter constructs, maintains, and remodels buildings or related structures. Installs, fixes, or modifies all aspects of a building, including walls, ceilings, floors, and stairs, as well as related structures like railings, doors, windows, and air conditioning systems. Being a Carpenter follows blueprints and plans to ensure requirements and specifications are met. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Additionally, Carpenter inspects buildings to determine repair that needs to be done. An apprenticeship and/or formal training may be required. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Carpenter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. FSI is looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic/Carpenter to join our team.
Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic will perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. This requires practical skills and knowledge (not proficiency) in such trades as: painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. You may be asked to switch to 2nd or 3rd shift at any point during the contract. This is based on the contract with the government.
