Being a Carpenter follows blueprints and plans to ensure requirements and specifications are met. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Additionally, Carpenter inspects buildings to determine repair that needs to be done. An apprenticeship and/or formal training may be required. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Carpenter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Responsibilities for a Full-time Carpenter:- Assist with coordination of renovation efforts of staff as well as contractors, to complete turnover renovations with the Renovations Project Manager.
- Read and comprehend sketches and drawings to fabricate building components and accessories from wood, plastic, masonry, plaster, and drywall.
- Cut, repair, and install drywall, flooring, and ceiling materials.
- Build wooden structures, if needed, and hang cabinets, shelving, etc.
- Install door jambs and related hardware, as well as interior finishing items such as casing and baseboards.
Job Requirements for a Full-time Carpenter:- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 1 - 3 years' experience in building trades with a variety of skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
