Position Overview
The Case Management Assistant (CMA) is a member of the Case Management Team responsible for implementing discharge plans and other support functions to patients of different ages and families within the Singing River Health System resulting in defined clinical, satisfaction and financial outcomes. The CMA must be able to work effectively under pressure, multitask and be selfdirected. CMA’s must have strong written and oral communication skills, team-building skills, and strong organizational skills. The CMA must have the ability to perform numerous tasks simultaneously with minimal errors. The CMA must be committed to dealing with departmental issues involving self or other employees in professional, forthright and impartial manner. The CMA will participate in interdepartmental Performance Improvement activities.
Education Experience Physical Demands
High school graduate or equivalent. Keyboarding skills of 30 wpm with minimal error is required. Knowledge, skills, and abilities in word processing, data software programs, faxing, and photocopying are required.
Health care experience preferred. Medical terminology experience is required.
Must be able to be physically active and mentally healthy; must be able to walk, stands, bend, stoop and sit. Must be able to make frequent trips to all other areas of the hospital and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to function well under stress.
