MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a health care setting
Certifications: CPR/First Aid; Complete a safe driving course within 90 days if hired (required to transport clients)
To transport clients the following items are required: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
Responsibilities: The Direct Care Worker is responsible for preparing meals; assist with feeding, bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming; light housekeeping such as mopping, sweeping, laundry, and dusting areas occupied by the client.
Provide beside care for temporary illness; assist with errands and groceries; ensure the client take their prescribed medication; organize activities; teach disabled individuals how to adopt basic independent living skills; and serve as a companion for the elderly who live alone.
Report and communicate changes in client’s condition; report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation; and document daily progress notes.
