POSITION OVERVIEW 

This role will have responsibility for bank account balancing and reconciliation, verification of daily EFT files, preparation of journal entries, and facilitation of suspense management.  The Cash Operations Analyst must be able to handle detailed reporting and reconciling requirements, work with a high level of accuracy, and organize around and deliver against tight deadlines.  The successful candidate will partner closely with Operational Teams, Sales and Vendor partners. 

Open to Des Moines, IA or Batesville, IN office locations.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Bank account balancing and reconciliation.
• Preparation of journal entries
• Suspense management:  Reconciliation of incoming payments, outgoing payments, and administrative system transactions
• Daily verification and validation of EFT files
• Researching accounts that are out of balance and working with Operational processing teams to resolve.
• Responding to inquiries from processing teams, Sales, and vendor partners regarding status of incoming funds, stop payments, suspense items, etc.
• Pulling and prepping files and reports.  A successful candidate will have the ability to continuously evaluate and identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline and automate current reports and templates.
• Assuming other duties/projects as they arise and being responsive to other operational needs/requests.

• Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external partners responsible for day-to-day work and escalations related to Cash Operations
• Monitors volumes and prioritizes work to ensure that deadlines are met.
• Serves as Cash Operations expert on special projects.
• Timeliness and accuracy
• Ability to effectively resolve escalated customer demands.
• Ability to research, detect and report issues posing an unacceptable risk.

• Internal Sales-Distribution and Business Relationship Management Teams
• Operations teams including New Business, Service and Claims
• Finance, Accounting and Treasury
• IT management & Vendor Provider Management

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational or work experience
• 3 years of experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry
• Strong math skills and understanding of Finance and Accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
