Casino Pit Manager manages and directs the daily activities for an assigned area of the casino. Surveys the casino floor and looks for players that are cheating and removes suspected card counters. Being a Casino Pit Manager observes gaming personnel for evidence of theft or ties to dishonest players. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Casino Pit Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Casino Pit Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Position purpose:To provide direction and oversight for the Table Games department in order to ensure a courteous, accurate, and efficient gaming experience for guests on assigned shift.Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Train and evaluate the performance of Floor Supervisors, Dual Rate Floor Supervisors and dealers on assigned shift and/or as directed by management.
- Enforce departmental and casino policies and procedures.
- Assist with disciplinary measures when needed.
- Implement the operations plan developed by the Table Games Director.
- Evaluate the play of patrons when necessary and as indicated by procedures.
- Monitor games to ensure house rules are followed.
- Become knowledgeable of signs of cheats and observe patrons for telling behaviors. Prepare paperwork for monetary transactions.
- Tactfully resolve guest complaints and render impartial decisions.
- Encourage a positive atmosphere among guests and employees.
- Communicate all departmental issues or concerns to the Director.
- Instruct patrons on the rules of the games.
- Oversight of the exchange of paper currency for playing chips.
- Calculate and approve winnings or oversight of collection of losing bets as established by the rules and procedures for the specific game.
- Ensure that all players have placed bets before play begins.
- Communicate guest or employee complaints to the Director.
- Inspect cards and equipment periodically to ensure that they are in good condition.
- Ensure departmental compliance with Title 31 record keeping policies and procedures.
- Become familiar with casino events and promotions in order to inform guests.
- Obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- Ensure compliance with tip reporting procedures.
- Scheduling and payroll duties for assigned shift as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:- Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous blackjack dealing and at least 2 year Table Games supervisory experience required.
- Requires strong math skills.
- Requires Gaming License.
Work Requirements:- Requires problem solving skills, strong math skills, ability to communicate effectively.
- Position involves prolonged standing or walking, stooping or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 30 pounds on a daily basis.
- Work is performed in a casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
