As Global Procurement Category Analytics, Lead Analyst, you will play a highly visible role throughout PPG's Global Procurement department in supporting "category management" capabilities and will report directly to the Global Procurement Analytics Manager, Category Analytics.
You will be responsible for reporting activities related to leading category management analyses and enhancements. The reports will include ad hoc analyses due to changing market drivers and individual category management scope and priorities. You will work with professionals and stakeholders from across the company including executive management and will drive ad hoc projects with COE and/or Procurement Leadership including projects comprising of cross functional engagement and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Lead for 4 Category Analysts and External Partners
* Drive Alignment and Prioritization with Global and Regional Raw Material Directors and Leadership Team(s)
* Enhance short and long term team vision
* Support, Enable, and Parter with assigned Category Managers
* Operate with knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and guidelines
* Develop solutions to complex and time sensitive requests, being proactive when possible
* Communicate clearly and effectively to others, lead discussions with leaders and peers
* Identify and prioritize multiple projects to meet or exceed required deadlines
Qualifications:
* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Business related field of study; an advanced degree such as an MBA or related field of study is preferred
* A minimum of 7 years previous analytics, technical, and/or procurement experience is required
* Prior project management is required
* Prior people management and Category management experience preferred
* Comfortable with coordination of global initiatives and navigating in a matrix organization across time zones and diverse cultures and working styles
* Advanced skills in MS Excel (building macros and automating reports) and other advanced computer and analytical skills are required
