    Position Summary 

    This role is responsible for planning and overseeing the procurement, component repair, and maintenance materials requirements of aircraft airframe components across multiple global AOCs and repair stations. This role will be highly visible within the organization and is responsible for guiding the continued maturity of the aviation supply chain.  

    Essential Functions Statements 

    • Execute and coordinate repair and procurement activities and follow-up with vendors on order status and lead time
    • Routinely interface with Maintenance Operations to plan ongoing materials requirements
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with aerospace suppliers by developing sourcing and repair strategy maps that include parts availability, current repair capabilities, lead times, and turnaround times
    • Determine asset pool size and long-term inventory strategy, including reorder points, and serviceability rates for all asset classes
    • Meet and exceed service level targets for parts availability, vendor on-time delivery (OTD), OTD to maintenance, technical dispatch reliability (TDR), and Aircraft Availability
    • Develop strategic plans for insourcing capabilities and capacities while maintaining a world class operating cost structure and efficient capital deployment
    • Coordinate commercial efforts to rationalize asset pool for excess inventories
    • Manage and maximize opportunities for warranty coverage and purchasing discounts
    • Maintain master stocking list of category related components and time-lived items to support maintenance events and minimize AOG risks

     

    Competency Statements

    • Existing vendor relationships with (airframe or engine) original equipment manufacturers and MROs related to the fleet
    • Able to read and understand MMEL, maintenance manuals, and illustrated parts catalogs
    • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Airline Management, or Engineering. 
    • Experience with leading the oversight of repair and overhaul of engines (CFM-56, PT6, CF34, or PW123) and major components

     

    Supervisory Responsibility
    This role has no supervisory responsibilities initially but can grow into a more mature organization

     

    Work Environment
    This job operates in a clerical, office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

    Physical Demands
    This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required. 

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

    Travel
    Travel requirements are: 10% - 25% to vendor locations and Metrea business unit sites
     
    Required Education, Experience and Certificates
    Education: Bachelors degree in aviation management, supply chain

    Experience:  5-7 years of airline rotable materials maintenance and repair planning background (airframe or engine) 
     
    Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates
    Education: Masters in business administration, supply chain, or aviation management

    Experience: 7-10 years of airline rotable materials maintenance and repair planning background (airframe or engine) with 3 years of leadership responsibility
    Certificates and Licenses:

    • A&P License

    Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products  
     
    Additional Eligibility Qualifications
    Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.
    Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
     
    Work Authorization/Security Clearance
    Employee must be a US citizen. 
    Employee must have and maintain a U.S. Passport.
