Category Manager develops the overall strategy for a product category and researches new product options in the category to drive sales and achieve targets. Leads a team that provides category insights and proposals by analyzing marketing and customer data and monitoring relevant market conditions. Being a Category Manager works closely with sales team to determine optimal pricing through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products to promote sales opportunities. Provides effective promotional materials. Additionally, Category Manager may develop special arrangements with vendors to enhance product promotions. Requires a bachelor's degree of marketing. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Category Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Category Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     As an MRO Category Manager, you will collaborate with our MRO sales team and Purchasing team to fulfill customer needs efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly build and leverage supplier relationships, work both independently and collaboratively, and successfully influence.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Lead and support sourcing efforts for new sales opportunities.
    • Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure timely completion of multiple quote packages.
    • Review prints, specification requirements, and cross-reference products to meet customer demands.
    • Identify potential domestic and international supplier partners and explore alternate sources for product solutions.
    • Conduct research to find alternative solutions supporting project objectives, such as lead time reduction, enhanced functionality, and cost savings.
    • Maintain and update the sourcing guide to streamline processes.
    • Cultivate and nurture relationships with both existing and potential suppliers.
    • Undertake additional sourcing and non-sourcing tasks as required, including sourcing products not previously sold.
    MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience required
    • 7 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years in the MRO Sourcing Category
    • Experience in product management, strategic sourcing, category planning.
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • Strong communication skills
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
    • Demonstrated successful experience working in a demanding, high performance work environment and team-oriented culture
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Proficient in working with databases and possessing other computer skills such as MS Office (Excel/Word/ PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities
    • Analytical skills to measure sales performance, item performance within a category and overall vendor funds management performance
    • Possess the ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions
    • Ability to maintain a professional image and positively represent the company
    • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time, multiple projects, and changing priorities
