HOERBIGER Rotary Solutions, The Deublin Company, is seeking a Category Manager to join our team in Waukegan.

The Category Manager has global responsibility for strategic material and components, and a significant spend. This position will provide analytical rigor, structured methodology, market knowledge, and strategy to the effective and efficient supply to Deublin’s global manufacturing and assembly locations. Being a solid communicator, the Category Manager, effectively works with both internal and external stakeholders. The position requires the ability to gather and discern market intelligence, supplier information as well as strong supplier management and negotiation skills. This position supports Deublin plants on the local level, working with teams in the US, China, Brazil, Italy, Germany.

When not traveling, this position will work in the office four days per week with one day per week remote. Position requires 20% travel to visit suppliers and other Deublin locations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Understanding needs and requirements of internal stakeholders on current and future spend for a given category(ies)
• Partnering with internal stakeholders to define category strategy, and approach to leveraging spend across the functional organization.
• Lead or support negotiations for assigned categories including RFP/RFQ with select key suppliers as appropriate, ensuring cost competitiveness requirements, continuous improvement activities, and risk mitigation methodologies. Building strategic partnerships with the supply base will be a key aspect of the role
• Lead category management activities around key KPIs – material productivity, supplier performance, LTA coverage, supplier rationalization, risk reduction, supply continuity and digital strategy. Assure an adequate supply of high-quality goods and services.
• Providing market intelligence
• Understanding of technical requirements of assigned categories. Ability to read and understand engineering prints.
• Recognizing and understanding supply risk to the organization, work with suppliers and internal stakeholder to resolve or suggest alternative solutions.

• BS/MS degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Industrial Engineering
• 3-5 years relevant experience within a procurement or Supply Chain function
• Strong analytical/negotiation skills and proven track record in Supplier Management and negotiations.
• Good problem solving and analytical skills with ability to handle multiple tasks at once and switch between strategic and detail-oriented thinking.
• Flexibility to adapt to dynamic and rapidly changing environments.
• Understanding of cost modeling and business financial acumen
• Must be able to travel (including international) 20% of time; requires valid Driver License.
