Category Manager develops the overall strategy for a product category and researches new product options in the category to drive sales and achieve targets. Leads a team that provides category insights and proposals by analyzing marketing and customer data and monitoring relevant market conditions. Being a Category Manager works closely with sales team to determine optimal pricing through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products to promote sales opportunities. Provides effective promotional materials. Additionally, Category Manager may develop special arrangements with vendors to enhance product promotions. Requires a bachelor's degree of marketing. The Category Manager position is an individual contributor role responsible for the sourcing of indirect goods and services, primarily in IT, including information security. You will be responsible for facilitating the strategic sourcing process, including leading cross-functional teams to define requirements, qualifying and selecting vendors, negotiating contract terms and conditions, working with the Legal team and stakeholders to mitigate risks, and executing contracts.
What You’ll Do
· Responsible for facilitating the end-to-end strategic sourcing process
· Partner with key stakeholders to determine specific business requirements
· Identify vendors capable of meeting business requirements
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute sourcing strategies
· Participate in RFx development, issuance, and evaluation
· Prepare, negotiate, execute and manage vendor contracts (NDA, MSA, SOW, etc.)
· Interact with Legal, Information Security, Vendor Management, and other functions to mitigate risk
· Utilize Coupa and other tools for contract approval, execution, and maintenance
· Support various IT and Information Security purchases
· Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
· Customer-focused approach to delivering value to internal stakeholders
· 3 years of related experience in managing indirect spend categories
· IT and Information Security category experience preferred
· Proven track record of negotiations resulting in cost savings and risk avoidance
· Ability to review, comprehend, and redline contract terms and conditions
· Ability to handle a wide range of tasks including multiple projects, vendors, and contracts
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
· Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals and personalities
· Strong project and process management skills
· Strong MS Office skills
· Relevant BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred
· Applicable certifications a plus, e.g. CPSM, CTPS, etc.
Pay Range- $73,600-$106,000
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location
