Catering Coordinator - Casino jobs in South Bend, IN

Creative Dining Services is looking for a Catering Coordinator at Indiana University South Bend.  The Catering Coordinator will assist the management team with the operational tasks associated with scheduled catering events.  Works professionally and cooperatively to ensure excellence in customer service, attractive food presentation, and supports sustainability and fiscal responsibility in accordance with company standards.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Is responsible for execution and supervision of assigned events.
• Review scheduled catering events and works with the Catering Manager and Executive Chef to determine logistical needs, performs inventories and submits requests for products and equipment to be ordered and schedules appropriately.
• Coordinates with the catering team and support departments to include building service staff, regarding the food and beverage expectations, delivery, set-up and break down of events, staffing, etc.
• Assists Catering Manager with orientation, department cross-training and assigned corporate training for all catering employees and student workers.
• Ensures that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through the use of checklists, hands-on supervision, and follow-up.
• Maintains records and prepares reports for continuous improvement for catering events.
• Work with supervisors to ensure all catering equipment is properly returned to their correct place after each event.  Ensures proper lock-up and vehicle procedures are followed
• Communicates with the Catering Manager regarding any complaints, problems, or compliments from customers or staff
• Reports any maintenance or equipment needs to Catering Manager or Executive Chef.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of experience in food service or catering
