    Position Summary

    The Director of Catering will lead efforts to solicit, book, and execute banquet and catering events resulting in strong customer satisfaction and profitability. Duties will include supervision of daily operations and coordinating details and menus for clients' functions. The Director of Catering also ensures the highest level of service by supporting the training and development of staff and executing the requirements of events based on client expectations and company standards

    The Director of Catering will be a pivotal leader at the hotel. Energy, dynamism, and an ability to get things done are crucial qualities. The position will require a strong knowledge of successful event execution, a flare for elevating menus and set-ups, grace and cool in the heat of the moment, and a keen understanding of prioritization and the ability to switch gears accordingly. Godfrey Hotels quickly grow into neighborhood hubs offering stimulating environments for guests and locals alike.

    Job Specifics

    Duties will include supervision of daily operations and coordinating details and menus for clients' functions. The Director of Catering also ensures the highest level of service by supporting the training and development of staff, and executing the requirements of events based on client expectations and company standards.

    • Lead the Management of Catering Operations
    • Ensure Exceptional Customer Service
    • Support and Coordinate with the Sales and Marketing Functions

    Communicate all details of catering events to operating departments and customers. Manage the quality process in areas of customer service and employee communication. Be skilled at both monthly forecasting and the annual budget process and possess a strong understanding of pace and productivity. Compile and prepare the annual catering sales budgets. Identify all markets and develop market approach strategies.

    Required Skills and Experience

    Bachelor degree in hospitality, business or related field.

    Minimum of five years of catering sales and operations experience demonstrating progressive growth and responsibility.
    Current or recent Detroit Metro work experience.
    Hotel experience is a big plus, as is familiarity with Hilton brand tools.
    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    Extraordinary people skills.
