    Role Summary
    The Director of Catering Sales is responsible for the sales of weddings, social gatherings, celebrations, and elopements.   This leader will conduct world class site tours and provide prospective clients with a curated vision for how to bring their event to life.  Develop and execute a proactive sales approach aimed at converting weddings and social events that are aligned with the Auberge brand.  Foster relationships with wedding planners, designers, and key vendors to build the Mattei’s reputation and position the property at the top of the market.  This is a sales role and does not oversee the servicing and execution of events.  Join our team and become one of the authors of our story.

    Responsibilities
    Key responsibilities for this position are:

    Social Sales

    • Partner with marketing team to develop sales collateral and design lead offerings for social events

    • Plan and execute world class site inspections

    • Upsell events and packages to perspective weddings

    • Offer pricing options that maximize wedding site fees 

    • Close social events with signed contracts ensuring the achievement of resort revenue goals

    • Foster relationships and collaborate with key local, regional and nations wedding planners

    • Partner with Senior Event Services Manager to ensure weddings and social gatherings are sold in a manner that allows for seamless execution 

     

    Leadership Functions

    • Develop proactive sales strategy designed to achieve budgeted revenue goals

    • Demonstrate timely and effective communication with clients

    • Ownership of all facets of the sales process 

    • Provide mentorship and guidance to Sales Coordinator

    • Respond to catering/wedding inquiries 

    • Promote positive relations with guests and team members

    • Maintain a peer relationship with Group Sales, Reservations, and Event Manager to ensure cohesion from booking to execution of event 

    • Assist in contacting clients and timely collection of all deposits for wedding and catering events. Keep track of deposits received and past due for timely collection of deposits upon the direction of the General Manager 

    • Maintain and update catering pace report on an ongoing basis

    • Partner with finance department to ensure deposit schedules remain current and contracts are up to date relevant 


    Required Qualifications
    • Previous experience in Wedding Sales as a top performer

    • Must be positive, result orientated and can work under pressure

    • Experience in designing events and working with vendors

    • Great communication skills and ability to work with a diverse group of team members including sales staff and food and beverage staff

    • Comprehensive knowledge of personal computers and various property specific applications, such as google suite and delphi

    • Experience with managing a small team of 3 or less

    • Knowledgeable of all resort department functions

    • Knowledgeable with legal and contractual agreements

    • Ability to do comp set shops and create and price banquet menus appropriately

    • Knowledgeable of revenue forecasting and variance preparation

    • Well-organized, detail oriented with excellent follow-up


    $90,000-$100,000/year
