Supporting Chef

• Supports Direction of Leadership to include Owner, General Manager, Lead Chef and Sales Managers. Assume the role as Lead Chef in his or her absence.
• Prepare exceptional cuisine per Banquet Event Order. (BEO)
• Manage all activities in the kitchen in absence of Lead Chef, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff
• Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production
• Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order
• Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner according to BEO.
• Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications
• Assure kitchen sanitation according to standards of Whatcom County Health Department. Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met
• Offer exceptional teambuilding, motivation and education. Ensure kitchen personnel is trained in best practices. Ensure complete, friendly and professional communication with all team members.

Qualifications for Supporting Chef

• High school or GED equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred
• Minimum 2-5 years catering cooking experience in a Fine & Casual dining and experience in a culinary leadership role preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.
• Food Handlers Permit
• Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions. Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Ability to work a variety of schedules to accommodate business as contracted. Weekends and/or nights required, possibly some Holidays.

Job Types: Temporary, Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Weekend availability

• Ferndale, WA 98248: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
