Being a Catering Manager develops and maintains catering accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Catering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Catering Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Catering Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. What you will Do: Assembles and delivers meal trays to patient care units, including late trays, room service meal trays, and nourishments for general and therapeutic diets. Washes and sanitizes soiled pans, dishes, utensils, and other equipment. Sets up and maintains food serving areas according to department guidelines. Notifies appropriate staff of any shortage in food to avoid interruption in service. Prepares and serves all food items according to therapeutic diets, standardized recipes, menus and service guidelines including quality and appearance. Follows HACCP techniques and other food safety guidelines in preparation, storage, handling, and holding of all food items including leftovers. Covers, dates, and labels all food items in storage. Rotates food products and other items on a “first-in, first-out” basis. Hours/Schedule: Part Time- Evenings Minimum Qualifications: Education: 1. High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred. Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, families and associates of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Computer Skills: Possesses necessary skills to effectively operate hospital’s admission, discharge and transfer (ADT) system and other computer-based systems, which manage patient-care records. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
