A hotel in Iowa City, IA is looking for a Catering Manager for their meeting and event spaces!

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in sales, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and CRM software.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Performs outside solicitation calls to potential new accounts to expand business opportunities.
• Responds promptly to inquiries from customers, prospects, other hotels, and corporate office, providing necessary information and assistance.
• Prepares proposals and confirmations for group bookings, conducts property tours with prospective customers, and assists them in menu selection and meeting room setup.
• Coordinates with other departments to ensure proper planning for upcoming events, distributes Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), schedules pre-function meetings, and conducts follow-ups as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
