Catering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates catered events for an establishment. Negotiates contracts, assists in the selection of menu items, schedules catering staff, arranges for facilities or equipment, and communicates customer needs to the appropriate personnel. Being a Catering Manager develops and maintains catering accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Catering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Catering Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Catering Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Catering Sales Manager is responsible for solicitations of new accounts as well as maintaining business relationships with existing/past accounts to meet/exceed all budgeted revenues and individual revenue production goals.     Qualifications:
    Catering Sales Manager is responsible for solicitations of new accounts as well as maintaining business relationships with existing/past accounts to meet/exceed all budgeted revenues and individual revenue production goals.     • Solicit new and existing accounts from assigned market segments (wedding, holiday parties, etc) to meet budgeted revenue and individual production goals.
    • Responds requests for proposals in a detailed, timely and professional manner.
    • Preparation and execution of detailed catering sales agreements (contracts)Conducts business development through the facilitation of site visits, outside sales calls, attending trade shows, email, and telephone prospecting, etc
    • Completes follow up correspondence to clients and vendors as needed.Maintains existing relationships with hotel’s preferred vendors.
    • Maintains detailed record of communication with customers through hotel’s CMS system.
    • Facilitates the pre-scheduling of advanced deposits listed in the sales agreement.Interface with other departments positively assisting as required
    • Attending Daily Business Review meeting as well as other departmental meetings as requested.
    • Performs other reasonable tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor, Director, or other members of the hotel’s Senior Leadership team.
    Requirements:

    • This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • A minimum of three years job-related experience
    • Complete working knowledge of MS office
    • Familiarity with Delphi preferred.
    • Interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people each day, build relationships and network.
    • Confidence and strong self-assuredness to succeed in directing customers.
    • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
    • Openness to feedback
    • Requires knowledge of hotel operations.
    • Requires knowledge of wedding standards, trends and traditions.
    • Requires basic food knowledge and a desire to grow that knowledge.
    • Requires knowledge of specialized or technical field or a thorough knowledge of the practices and techniques of a professional field.
    • May require knowledge of policies and procedures, and the ability to determine a course of action based on these guidelines.

    Compensation Range: The compensation for this position is $26.44/Hr. - $28.84/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
