Catering Manager jobs in Roanoke, VA

We are currently seeking for a proactive and passionate Catering Manager who will manage and supervise all aspects of our catering operations. Regular duties for the role will include client consultations, menu planning, supply ordering, and on-the-day management of staff.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all aspects of our catering service, ensuring that high standards are maintained for all events.
• Plan, organize, and control catering services for a range of functions and events.
• Meet with clients to discuss event details and coordinate with them to ensure their satisfaction.
• Manage the catering budget, place orders with suppliers, and ensure that invoices are paid in a timely manner.
• Recruit, train, and supervise catering staff, promoting a positive and efficient work environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Catering Manager, preferably in an educational setting.
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field.
• Exceptional customer service skills and ability to cater to a diverse clientele group.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making capabilities.
• Strong understanding of budget management, food and beverage operations, sanitation regulations, and team management.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Prior experience in a higher education institution.
• Experience in catering large-scale events with diverse cultural menus.
• Knowledge of current trends in the catering industry.
• Certification in food safety and sanitation standards.
