We are located 15 Minutes East of Albany, and 15 Minutes North of Hudson.

Do you have experience as a bridal, corporate or special events sales manager? We are Birch Hill Catering, in Constant operation since 1936. We are just across the river, and down a country lane. We are still family owned and operated for 4 generations. We have revamped and expanded our property over the years for your selling portfolio to include a 500 person ballroom, a 350 person ballroom, 3 outdoor pavilions, a conference center and a dutch barn located in East Greenbush. We also book off-premise events in locations such as the Legislative Office Building in Albany, Canfield Casino in Saratoga, NYS Museum, Palace Theater, and a Multitude of interesting Locations, skies the limit! Birch Hill is a full service, fully licensed, banquet-corporate-picnic-concert on and off premises catering company with 70 acres at our main Facility. Ponds, Pavilions, Ballrooms, Swans, Fountains , and seating for 4,000 plus guests .

We are looking for a sales and operations professional to help create very special events. We offer beautifully orchestrated wedding ceremonies and receptions, themed socials, corporate galas, holiday events, again, the sky is the limit! We are always open to new ideas and new opportunities! We expect these professionals to be detail oriented with exceptional guest service and satisfaction skills. Proposal writing, committee presentations, meeting with and engaging customers, plus most importantly closing the sale and making your client still feel like a guest are all important to us.

Sales persons need to have at least 3 years sales experience in either wedding or corporate event planning and fully understand how to work with clients of all socioeconomic backgrounds. A hospitality background where you understand the dining room, front of the house, wedding etiquette, appreciation for the Bar and Kitchen and/or a degree in hospitality is a big plus.

Plus, it's not really a hard sell, we have had over 83 years of practice to get it right.

Flexible Hours as schedule is largely event driven. Some weekdays, evenings, and weekends apx 40- 45 Hours avg per week.

Hourly PLUS Commission. Compensation ranges from $30,000 to $75,000. how good are you

We look forward to hearing from you!! Birch Hill Catering in Schodack, NY is looking for one catering sales manager to join our 66 person strong team. We are located on 1 Celebration Way. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and hard-working.

Birch Hill Catering is always growing its team and we are looking for a Special Event Sales Manager to join us. This person will work closely with all areas of the business but primarily focused on weddings. The right candidate will be experienced in sales and hospitality.

Responsibilities:

• The ideal applicant will be outgoing, detail oriented, and dedicated to providing exceptional client service
• Responsible for sustaining relationship with existing clients and soliciting new catering accounts to meet and/or exceed revenue goals, coordinate and service client functions to ensure customer satisfaction
• Negotiate pricing to generate contracts, proposals, BEOs and other letters of correspondence to deliver a seamless experience while building client loyalty
• Rebook existing accounts as well as develop, negotiate, qualify and book new business through solicitation of outside sales calls
• Maintain up-to-date Banquet Event Orders for client signature and internal distribution; secure guaranteed guest count, and deposit payments
• Assist and oversee day of event setup and logistics with the team as needed including day-of coordination for weddings
• Flexible hours as schedule is largely event driven

*Facilitating all initial inquiries with the corresponding information requested via phone calls and email *Consistent contact with new leads to book appointments for tours

Qualifications:

• 2 years sales experience in either wedding or corporate event planning
• Willfulness to work with clients of all socioeconomic backgrounds
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet all deadlines
• Effectively communicate with all guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, and courteous manner (both oral and written)
• Local travel and vehicle required for sales appointments and events
