Solicit, book, plan and coordinate weddings while maximizing the banquet space to meet / exceed sales goals.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Wedding Market at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa located in Clearwater Beach, FL.
- Sell, book and finalize weddings from start to finish.
Functions:
- Developing and implementing catering service strategies to meet customer needs.
- Planning and coordinating menu options for wedding receptions and other special events
- Negotiating contracts with vendors for food, beverages and other supplies
- Monitoring quality of food, presentation and service provided by catering staff
- Operating and maintaining a computerized system for responding, coordinating and tracking sales enquiries, booking and availability
- Meeting prospective clients for show-arounds for weddings, private functions, and corporate functions
- Ensuring a prompt and professional response or follow-up to sales enquiries, wedding show arounds and FAM trips
- Plan, upsell and detail the meeting/function/menus with the client including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations, etc... Complete the contracts, prepare the appropriate paperwork, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel, resolve any issues, complaints and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
Prepare status and period end reports to keep management abreast of activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate / hotel procedures and products and the competition's product, strengths and weaknesses to continually improve sales strategies and the achievement of goals.
Knowledge and Skills:
Education:
Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management / Event Management or related field.
Experience:
Minimum two full years of employment in a related hotel or catering manager position.
Prior Hilton experience preferred.
Prior OnQ experience preferred.
Expert Knowledge of Delphi required.
High Proficiency with Excel, Word.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Skills and Abilities:
- Requires thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the catering, food & beverage and hospitality professions specific to weddings.
- Requires ability to investigate, critically think and analyze current activities and/or information involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations.
- Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and/or hotel guests.
Hours Required:
Forty to fifty hours over a five-day period; days and times may vary based on need.
Weekends required with flexibility and nights possible based on events.
