Essential Job Functions:
- Strong focus on selling meeting and program space to local businesses and organizations.
- Seeks out new catering business to achieve revenue goals by actively networking within the local community and demonstrating strong client relations skills.
- Facilitates catering sales from incoming inquiries as well as internal referrals.
- Maintains relationships with past clients to facilitate future bookings.
- Must have the ability to forecast future business on an annual basis. Craft sales goals in order to meet forecasts.
- Responsible for bookings, confirmations, billings, generating proposals and contracts.
- Coordination with other departments to ensure successful planning and execution for all events.
- Creating banquet event orders and reviewing with clients to ensure all needs are met. Ability to make recommendations and implement changes as needed.
- Proficient in the use of related software, Delphi, Salesforce, Reserve and any other types of catering software.
- Coordination of events with the Banquet Manager to ensure easy transition from sales to operations.
- Ensures pricing is accurate and complete for all catering events, must have ability to upsell catering menus and items before and during programs.
- Must assist banquet leadership team with execution of events.
- Operates with the venue’s best interest in mind.
- Reviews and approves all banquet checks.
- Ability to extend complimentary services in accordance with the approved comp matrix.
- Assisting the community relations team with bookings. Expected to attend events and networking off property to grow contacts and source business
- Organize travel kits to best promote our property and assets; partner with marketing team to develop key sales messages and material, and align Events Center with broader property activity.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 2 years of catering sales or related experience
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- The ability to analyze, resolve problems and exercise good judgment in decision-making.
- Ability to work successfully without direct supervision.
- A dynamic, enthusiastic and creative personality who thrives under pressure.
- The ability to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed.
- Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software.
- Flexible availability that includes weekends and holidays.
- The ability to obtain and retain all required licenses.
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Regularly required to walk, stand, see, talk, hear, use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms.
- The ability to stoop and kneel.
- The strength to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
