Job Title: Machine Operator I
Department: Development
Reports To: Fulfillment Manager
FLSA Status: Nonexempt – 12 month position
Salary Grade: 4B ($12.22-$14.06-$15.90)/hr.
Approved Date: 11/15/2019
SUMMARY
Operates machines to include inserter, stamper, folder and sealing machine for mass mailings by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Indicates the non-essential duties and responsibilities. Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labre's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
- Assists supervisor in determining the job specifications and daily production needed from that machine daily for each campaign.
- Operates machine and observes operation to detect evidence of malfunctions throughout production run.
- Stops machine to make adjustments or clear jams.
- After essential duties and responsibilities are performed, time is spent assisting where needed in the Fulfillment Department and/or Development Department.
- Notifies machine operator II or production assistant operator when equipment malfunctions.
- Operates, cleans and maintains machinery on a regular basis.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to six months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
- Willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends, if needed
- Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to perform well in a teamwork setting.
- Respects the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ in private, personal, and public life.
- Commitment to the mission of the Roman Catholic Church in Native American education.
- Sensitivity to, and appreciation of Native American people and their cultures.
