Summary:
Under the direction of the Lead or
Manager, the Machine Operator is responsible for operating one or more
production lines. Is responsible
to set up for production and ensure the products produced are within Mariani
quality standards. Other duties may be
assigned.
Accountability #1 – Qualifications – 20%
- Must
be able to Lead a crew and set example for Company values.
- Must
be a self-starter motivated and show leadership ability.
- Must
be able to think on their feet and must have mechanical aptitude.
- Must
be able to work under a timeline and meet that timeline.
- Ability
to keep focus under stressful situations.
- Must
be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Must
pass Mariani Forklift Certification.
- Certification
from a tech school desired.
Accountability # 2 – Operation of a production
line – 30%
OPERATIONS
- Sets
up assigned line for operation in allotted time.
- Starts,
stops, sets up, and cleans machinery according to operational
requirements.
- Performs
daily line inspection and reports findings to Lead and Maintenance.
- Performs
machine changeovers as scheduled.
- Checks
raw materials for quality and quantity ahead of loading into machine.
- Oversees
production run ensuring that specific customer specifications are met.
- Works
with Maintenance to maintain the equipment as part of the PM program.
- Keeps Leads
informed of any issues with production run.
- Tracks
line productivity including spillage, through put, yield and any other
critical parameters.
- Properly
reports downtime, labor and materials used to Production Control.
- Will
not mishandle equipment in any manner.
- Must
ensure all Line staff is following proper production specifications
providing training and supervising to the production line members.
- Must
be willing and able to train other operators as needed and attend outside
training sites.
- Is responsible
for packaging integrity and quality checks on each packaging order.
- Monitors
correct product weights and ensures that they are maintained throughout
the shift.
- Follows
Company’s policies, rules and regulations for Safety, Food Safety, Quality
and GMPs.
- Completes
required documentation in a timely and legible manner.
- Reviews
and follows the staffing schedule for all production line members.
SAFETY
- Responsible
for ensuring safe working conditions and safe work practices in assigned area, this
includes following written procedures for safe handling and use of chemical
compounds.
- MUST
follow all Label requirements when handling, storing or using chemicals.
- Follows
lock out tag out procedures when machinery needs to be cleaned and/or
maintained.
- Must
wear proper PPE for the different tasks performed.
