Central Office Equipment Technician installs, repairs and maintains office machinery and equipment. Performs preventative maintenance, replaces parts , and updates software. Being a Central Office Equipment Technician documents maintenance and service cycles of the office devices. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Central Office Equipment Technician may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Central Office Equipment Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The Central Office Technician is a pivotal role in overseeing the fiber optics network operations including customer / subscriber activation, works as a team member of Head of market responsible for managing the network including IP related activities, implementing the ethernet fiber optics converter and related electronic components, work collaboratively with Design, Sales, Field technicians & Construction, to support the growth and upgrades of telco outside plant facilities. This person will have to communicate with customers to determine requirements and thresholds for reporting drive project completions across multiple internal groups as well as define short- and long-term relief solutions.
