Being a Central Office Equipment Technician documents maintenance and service cycles of the office devices. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Central Office Equipment Technician may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Central Office Equipment Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Description

    Cal-Line Northwest is looking to hire an experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician Mechanic to join our growing team. We specialize in vegetation management equipment, catering to the arborist industry and are the largest dealer in the world for Bandit Industries’ market leading product line of woodchippers, stump grinders and whole-tree chippers. We have six locations across the Western U.S. including locations in California, Oregon, and Washington. In addition, we are a leader in promoting education within our industry, conducting seminars ranging from safety, operations and maintenance and bugs and disease.

     

    This position shares space and cross over repairs with our sister company Owen Equipment one of the largest Vactor and Elgin dealers in the United States and sell, service and rent sewer cleaners, vacuum excavators, street sweepers and related accessories. We are the largest supplier in the Western U.S. of replacement brushes and brooms for sweeping equipment. We maintain four full-service locations in Portland, Oregon; Kent, Washington; Fairfield, California; and Salt Lake City, Utah and our customer base consists of the largest municipalities and contractors in the Western U.S. Our equipment is critical to keeping our streets and sewer systems clean, locating buried infrastructure during construction projects, and helping to build and maintain our electrical grid.

    Salary: $25.00 - $38.00 an hour depending on experience. SIGNING BONUS - $2,500 depending on level of mechanic experience.

    Service Technician Mechanic Description:

     

    As a Service Technician Mechanic, you will be working on will be working on commercial woodchippers, stump grinders, mini skids steers, and large horizontal grinders.

     

    • Some travel may be required for repairs onsite at customer locations.

    Requirements:

     

    • 3 yrs. experience with either construction or heavy diesel equipment with hydraulics, electrical and pneumatic systems
    • Ability to read and understand Electrical & Hydraulic schematics
    • Welding and fabrication experience a plus
    • Possess a complete toolset required for service
    • A valid driver's license and clean driving record
    • Able to pass a background and drug screening
    • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns with computer diagnostic equipment
    • Inspect vehicles and equipment for wear, damage, or specific problems that might affect performance and safety
    • Perform factory-recommended preventative maintenance & inspections
    • Ability to create clear parts requisitions and document service work orders
    • Has good attendance and punctuality
    • Excellent communication skills for internal and external customers
