    Description

    Stotz Equipment is looking for an experienced Golf/Turf Equipment Technician.  This individual will be responsible for the effective diagnosis and repair of engine components including small engines, agricultural equipment, and other equipment sold in the market area.  Their work must be completed safely, professionally, and in a timely manner.  If you're the kind of person who strives to do great work, excels in creative team environments, and lives for problem-solving this is the place for you.

    What You'll Do

    This position is responsible for the daily functions related to inspections, maintenance and repair of turf and professional mowing equipment, which are used for golf courses, resorts, parks, etc. These duties are performed in shop and/or on site at various customer locations.

     

    Essential Duties (including, but not limited to):

    • Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology
    • Consult equipment operating manuals, schematics, and drawings
    • Perform scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts
    • Diagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment
    • Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears
    • Overhaul and test major components, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems
    • Dissemble and reassemble equipment and components
    • Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information
    • Participate in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
    • Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities
    • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
    • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
    • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
    • Travel to and from various customers’ locations to perform assigned tasks

     

    Qualifications


    Skills and qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Clean driving history
    • Basic knowledge of automotive repair, electronics, and/or welding is desired
    • One year of familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures desired
    • Formal vocational or post-secondary training in diesel technology or equipment mechanics desired
    • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with others
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
    • Team player, willingness to and be adaptable in challenging situations
    • Familiarity with Golf equipment preferred

    Physical requirements

    • Must be able to complete various activities in the shop and at customers’ locations that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying, bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting
    • Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time

    Working Conditions

    Service Technicians usually work indoors and outdoors in a noisy shop environment. They often lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty equipment, and stand or lie in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.
