    Summary: Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Reviews project proposal, RFP, or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
    • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Performs the work and manages other technical experts.
    • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
    • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
    • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
    • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
    • Works on 1-2 large projects and multiple small projects concurrently.
    • Specifies W&O products to meet the functional and regulatory needs of the customer.
    • Works with suppliers and in-house experts to develop custom solutions for customer.
    • Makes sales calls to regional customers on a periodic basis
    • Other project team duties as assigned

    Education/Experience:

    Four-year college or university technical degree; or six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five to ten years experience at a shipyard, marine equipment supplier, vessel owner/operator, or marine engineering firm is desired.

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Math and Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to perform application engineering tasks and understand technical concepts related to piping systems and controls.

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Project Management software.
