Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as the Director of Central Supply. The Director of Central Supply will be responsible for overseeing the management and distribution of medical supplies and equipment throughout our organization. Responsibilities include inventory management, procurement, distribution, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, knowledge of supply chain management, and experience in healthcare logistics. Previous experience in central supply management or healthcare materials management is required. This position offers an opportunity to play a critical role in supporting the delivery of quality patient care and optimizing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the inventory management process for medical supplies, equipment, and materials, including procurement, storage, tracking, and distribution.
- Establish par levels, reorder points, and inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Manage the procurement process for medical supplies and equipment, including sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, and evaluating supplier performance.
- Coordinate with purchasing staff to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of supplies while maintaining quality standards and compliance with regulations.
Distribution and Logistics:
- Coordinate the distribution of medical supplies and equipment to various departments and clinical areas within the organization, ensuring timely delivery and availability.
- Implement efficient distribution methods, routing plans, and delivery schedules to optimize logistics and minimize transportation costs.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and industry best practices in central supply operations, including storage, handling, and distribution of medical supplies.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of central supply areas, equipment, and processes to identify compliance issues, quality concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
Technology Utilization:
- Utilize inventory management software/systems to track inventory levels, monitor usage patterns, and generate reports for analysis and decision-making.
- Leverage technology solutions for barcode scanning, RFID tracking, and electronic documentation to streamline central supply operations and enhance accuracy.
Staff Supervision and Training:
- Supervise central supply staff, including inventory clerks, supply chain specialists, and distribution personnel, providing leadership, guidance, and support.
- Conduct training and orientation sessions for staff on central supply policies, procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage central supply budgets, forecast expenses, and track expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate pricing agreements, and implement cost containment measures to optimize resource utilization.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, workflow optimization, and efficiency gains in central supply operations, and implement strategies to enhance productivity and service quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including nursing, purchasing, and finance, to address supply chain challenges and drive operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in central supply management, materials management, or healthcare logistics, with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills to lead a team, delegate tasks, and drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management practices, and regulatory requirements applicable to central supply operations in healthcare settings.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze inventory data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in inventory management software/systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records (EHR) platforms.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in inventory tracking, documentation, and compliance.
- Ethical Conduct: Adherence to professional ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality in all central supply activities.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a criminal background check and any other screenings required by the employer or regulatory authorities.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
