ECU Health Beaufort Hospital is located in Washington and serves as a campus ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville. Position Summary
The Central Supply Technician is responsible for stocking the department with supplies needed for procedures, the decontamination of soiled instruments and supplies, and the reprocessing of instruments and supplies in a manner to provide sterility following manufacturing guidelines. Performs processing tasks with skill and accuracy. Performs quality control measures and documents results timely. Monitors sterilizers during processing cycles and verifies parameters are met to insure sterility. Reports negative outcomes and initiates actions to ensure safe delivery of patient care items. Participates and develops education programs as needed.
Minimum Requirements
The employee must possess one year of experience. He or She should have the ability to learn and apply principles of disinfecting, sterilization and aseptic techniques, ability to learn operation of sterilization equipment and be able to use equipment safely and efficiently, ability to maintain accurate daily sterilization records, and the ability to learn and retain knowledge specific to instrument identification and instrument sets. Employee must have good communication skills. Must possess ability to organize workload for efficient, timely completion.
