Ceramics Engineer develops manufacturing processes and equipment for converting ceramics into useful products. Tests various combinations of materials to create ceramics that that are durable and economical. Being a Ceramics Engineer researches and selects the appropriate hand and power tools to be used in the production process. Tests finished ceramics to ensure quality, consistency, and durability standards have been met according to specifications. Additionally, Ceramics Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Ceramics Engineer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     We are currently searching for an experienced and highly-analytical Quality Inspector to join our production department. As a Quality Inspector, you will uphold the safety regulations of our company and supervise the production process to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations.

    The chosen candidate will perform regular product evaluations, record inspection results, and recommend improvements to the production process. To excel in this role, applicants should demonstrate great attention to detail with excellent technical and math abilities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping
    • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
    • Read travelers, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services
    • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications
    • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control
    • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records
    • Teach/train the Quality Inspection team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence
    • Supervise the production process
    • Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
    • A minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role or education
    • Second shift only: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
    • Good math and technical skills
    • Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques

    PREFERRED:

    • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Standards

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Communicate mostly by talking to others in person.
    • Work within a team
    • Stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours
    • Tolerate loud sounds and distracting noise levels
    • Share workspace with others
    • Usually a 40-hour work week, but overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines or quotas
