Certified EHR Trainer conducts technical training programs for end users of EHR (electronic health record) software applications. Determines training objectives and creates lesson plans and other materials needed for training. Being a Certified EHR Trainer configures the training environment to ensure end-users can practice using EHR software both inside and outside of the classroom. Designs and delivers new hire training and ongoing user training during system changes and upgrades. Additionally, Certified EHR Trainer may be responsible for implementing a credentialed trainer program that ensures EHR instructors have the required level of system knowledge to effectively deliver training. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Typically requires Epic/Cerner or similar certification. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions for healthcare providers, clinical staff, and administrative personnel on the NexGen EHR/EMR healthcare system.
- Develop and maintain training materials, user guides, and educational resources to support the training process.
- Customize training programs to meet the specific needs of various practice facilities and departments.
- Collaborate with practices to assess their training needs and develop tailored training plans.
- Provide hands-on training, both in-person and virtually, ensuring trainees understand and can proficiently use the NexGen EHR/EMR system.
- Offer ongoing support and follow-up training to address questions, concerns, and system updates.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and enhancements of the NexGen EHR/EMR system and incorporate them into training programs.
- Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving related to system use and integration.
- Provide feedback to the product development team based on user experiences and needs.
- Maintain records of training sessions, attendance, and user feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, nursing, or equivalent clinical background.
- Previous experience in clinical healthcare settings, with a deep understanding of healthcare workflows and practices.
- Proven experience in training healthcare professionals on EHR/EMR systems.
- Strong knowledge of the NexGen EHR/EMR system or similar EHR/EMR platforms is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to adapt to new software and technologies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel to client locations as needed.
