Certified EHR Trainer jobs in New Haven, CT

We are opening a new training facility and are looking to add a positive reinforcement dog trainer to our team! Our ideal candidate will have or be working toward certification (KPA, CPDT, etc.), 18 months of experience working with clients and their dogs, and an interest in growing with our team.

Potential openings for evenings, day time and weekends.

Responsibilities may include:

• Utilizing positive reinforcement based dog training methods to create behavior change
• Teaching basic manner/obedience group classes (up to 5 dogs)
  
• Depending on experience, reactive dog, cooperative care, basic agility and other specialty classes
• Providing one-on-one coaching with clients at the facility or the clients' home
• Sending session write ups and other resources to clients post-session
• Keeping accurate internal records of each session
• Developing new classes

Qualifications of an Ideal Candidate:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 months of dog training experience
• Dog training certification preferred (in process OK, too)
• Familiarity with common behaviors of different kinds of dog breeds and breed groups
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience with reactive dogs
