As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), you will work collaboratively with a variety of healthcare providers to deliver high-quality anesthesia and pain care services. You will care for patients in various settings and perform procedures including surgeries, diagnostics, therapeutics, and pain management. At Cedars-Sinai, all CRNAs work under standardized procedures supervised by physicians, ensuring safe and cost-effective medical care. The scope of your practice will be supported by the collaborating physician, who will handle any diagnoses or management of problems outside your scope of practice.
Responsibilities:
Perform and document pre-anesthesia assessments and evaluations
Request and review laboratory and diagnostic studies
Obtain informed consent for anesthesia services
Administer pre-anesthetic medications and treatments
Develop and implement anesthesia care plans
Select, order, and use equipment, monitors, supplies, and drugs for anesthesia administration
Administer analgesic and anesthetic agents and other necessary medications
Manage airways and facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia
Administer cardiovascular and respiratory support during and after anesthesia
Evaluate patient response to anesthesia and surgery and take corrective actions if needed
Provide post-anesthesia follow-up care
Discharge patients from the post-anesthesia care unit
Implement acute and chronic pain management techniques
Lead emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions
The work hours for this position will vary, including some weekend coverage.
Requirements:
Master's Degree in Nursing
Doctorate Degree in Nurse Anesthesia Practice (preferred)
California registered nurse license
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Experience:
1 year of experience as a CRNA (preferred)
