Established in 2023, CommuniCare OLE is the result of a union of two health centers with deep roots in their respective communities and reputations for providing high-quality primary care to all, regardless of insurance or ability to pay: OLE Health of Napa and Solano Counties and CommuniCare Health Centers of Yolo County. Building on a legacy established by both organizations in 1972, CommuniCare OLE is a network of federally-qualified health centers with 17 sites across Napa, Solano, and Yolo Counties. It offers comprehensive care, including medical, dental, behavioral health and substance use treatment, nutrition, optometry, pharmacy, care coordination, referrals, and enrollment assistance to more than 70,000 individuals, and no one is turned away due to lack of insurance, immigration status, or ability to pay. Many services are offered outside of its sites, including mobile health, home visiting, and community and school-based programs.

JOB SUMMARY: CommuniCare OLE is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing comprehensive, patient-centered perinatal, primary care services including medical, dental, substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, and outreach services to low income, multicultural, uninsured, and underinsured patients in Yolo County and the surrounding community. The midwife works as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes health educators, nutritionists, lactation consultants, social workers, midwives, physicians, nurses, and other staff. The Midwife also works in collaboration with Sutter Medical Group OB/GYNs, and Sutter Davis Hospital to provide full scope midwifery services. Services are provided at three CommuniCare clinic sites and Sutter Davis Hospital. 32-40 hrs./week at Davis Community Clinic, Hansen Family Health Center in Woodland, and Salud Clinic in West Sacramento. Travel required for meeting attendance. Intrapartum call at Sutter Davis Hospital in Davis. Shifts are variable and include days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Completion of an accredited Certified Nurse Midwife program.
• Board certification by American College of Nurse Midwives.
• Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of California issued by the BRN.
• Current Nurse-Midwife license to practice in the State of California issued by the BRN.
• Current Nurse Midwife Furnishing license to practice in the State of California issued by the BRN.
• Current DEA, BLS and AMCB certificate.
• Must apply for, be granted, and maintain Allied Health Staff Privileges with Sutter Davis Hospital.
• 1-2 years minimum experience providing full scope midwifery care preferred.
• Experience working in a clinic or FQHC serving a low-income population preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
