Being a Certified Nurse Midwife ensures safety and health of mother and child and identifies need for additional care. Works in conjunction with a practicing physician. Additionally, Certified Nurse Midwife requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Certified as Nurse Midwife. Requires Registered Nurse. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). As a Certified Nurse Midwife for Women’s Care, you will provide patient care in clinical and hospital settings. You will manage care related to pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum care, and breastfeeding. Identify, evaluate, and address prenatal, postpartum, family planning, contraception, health promotion, preventative health screenings, routine obstetrics, gynecological services and biofeedback therapy. You will also provide comprehensive women’s health care throughout the lifespan, with an emphasis on reproductive, gynecologic, and family-centered health education while administering quality patient care. In addition, you will perform physical examinations, order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and asses’ patient’s clinical problems and health care needs.
