Certified Nurse Midwife jobs in Tuscaloosa, AL

Education, Training, Experience, and other Requirements: 

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Board certified by either ANCC or AANP. 
• APN authorization to practice in family health by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Prescriptive authorization.
• Minimum one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Clinical

• Provides direct patient care according to written protocols. 
• Diagnose health issues.
• Performs physical examinations. Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.
• Assesses severity of patient's illness and established timeframe for patient evaluation. 
• Establishes plan of care related to patient's identified problem(s). 
• Consults with other team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines as necessary. 
• Detect changes in patients’ health and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Implements plan of care in a systematic and timely manner. 
• Utilizes the electronic medical record system (EMR) in documenting visits.
