Certified Nursing Assistant jobs in Hawaii
Certified Nursing Assistant performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant ensures patients' safety, well-being, and comfort. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Communicates with patients, their families, and other care providers. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Requires State License. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Certified Nursing Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

Resident Care:
Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges of residents.
Escorts residents to and from appointments, activities, and social programs.
Answers residents’ calls promptly and relays information to appropriate persons as needed.
Performs activities of daily living, i.e., bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, etc.; treats each resident as an individual in caring for his/her needs.
Performs restorative, rehabilitative, and ROM, procedures as instructed.
Reports all observed resident reactions, changes in symptoms and complaints to Charge Nurse.
Reviews daily and follows resident care plan; updates changes with charge nurse/supervisor as needed/directed.
Appropriately prioritizes multiple tasks.
Functions independently within scope of practice.
Attends care conference meetings as assigned and reports/provides information to the IDT and family/caregivers about resident’s ADLS.
Documentation: Documents care according to established guidelines and:
Is legible.
Signatures/initials present.
Form completed/used correctly.
Information is accurate.
Maintains Standards of Professional Performance:
Participates in his/her own evaluation process by providing self-evaluation and written goals.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with Hawaii state law required.
Prior employment experience in long-term care and/or acute medical surgical nursing setting preferred.
Current CPR certification required.
Hawaii state-approved CNA competency training required.
