REPORTS TO: Homecare Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY: Provide in-home, community-based services to clients in their homes through the provision of household tasks, and/or related activities while facilitating a client's effort to maintain independence in their home. Traveling to and from client's homes in the Crawford County, Ohio area.
1. Homemaking tasks including but not limited to, dusting furniture; sweeping; vacuuming, and washing floors; kitchen care, including dishes, appliances, and counters; bathroom care; changing bed linens; washing windows; removing trash; and laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting clothes away.
2. Meal preparation, grocery purchase, and errands for the purpose of picking up prescriptions.
3. Completing all required paperwork and documentation for each client.
4. Apply principles of health and safety in relation to self and client.
5. Observe changes in client status and report to supervisor.
6. Other job-related duties as required.
Requirements:REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be a high school graduate, or have completed a GED, or have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in work related field.
2. Ability to understand the written activity and care plans, execute instructions, and document services delivered.
3. Ability to communicate with clients/families and emergency service systems personnel.
4. Must be neat in appearance, in good health and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
5. Must possess good communications skills, both written and verbal, and good observation skills.
6. Must have knowledge of general housekeeping procedures and possess good homemaking skills.
7. Must be able to organize time and set priorities.
8. Must be able to follow directions and work independently.
9. Must be courteous, cooperative, and even tempered toward clients and coworkers.
10. Must be free of any disqualifying criminal offenses as determined by fingerprint check through the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
11. Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
12. Must be able to enter client homes and other potentially handicap inaccessible buildings.
13. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license, automobile insurance, and have access to reliable transportation to travel throughout Crawford County.
