Certified Nursing Assistant performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant ensures patients' safety, well-being, and comfort. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Communicates with patients, their families, and other care providers. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Requires State License. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Certified Nursing Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    Provides safe, competent patient-centered care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. The certified nursing assistant provides care under the direction of the registered nurse or physician. Participates as an active member of the Nursing Team on the assigned unit/department. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.


    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Prefer experience in an acute care setting.

     

    EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
    1. High School diploma, GED or Higher Education preferred.
    2. Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
    3.      Must possess one of the following:

    •           CNA certificate and/or a certificate of completion of a CNA program

    •           Medical Assistant certificate and/or a certificate of a MA program and/or PCT certificate

    •           Current enrollment in an LVN, ADN or BSN accredited school of nursing with successful

                Completion of first semester at a minimum        

    4.      BLS upon hire and remain current thereafter

    5.      De-escalation class within first year of hire as required by site based on specialty unit and job function

    6.       Must be > 18 years of age by the date of hire.
