Certified Nursing Assistant jobs in Nassau, NY
Certified Nursing Assistant performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant ensures patients' safety, well-being, and comfort. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Communicates with patients, their families, and other care providers. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Requires State License. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Certified Nursing Assistant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Certified Nurse Assistant - CNA is responsible for providing direct, hands-on care to residents to ensure residents attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental and emotional well-being possible for each resident without declines in status unless the decline is documented as unavoidable.
Responsibilities:
- The CNA follows safety policies and practices in performing nursing care.
- The CNA reports changes in residents condition immediately to the Charge Nurse.
- The CNA observes resident's rights including, but not limited to, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- The CNA promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
Requirements for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA):
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate for NY
- Excellent work ethic
