Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care performs various direct patient care activities in a long-term care environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care provides support and companionship to patients. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Additionally, Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care helps patients take medications. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Maintains documents and records related to patient care. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Requires State License. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. UNIT SUMMARY: Hall 2 is 50-bed long-term care/memory care unit that offers resident daily activities along with a wide range of services and support. Hall 2 promotes a home-like environment and strives to make the life of its resident meaningful, safe and comfortable. Staff members must be compassionate, motivated and dedicated to helping others in need.
JOB SUMMARY: Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with Activities of Daily Living while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma: GED equivalent or High School certificate. Less than one year experience required. Hoyer lift and specialty beds; Basic medical equipment (scale, thermometer, etc.); Communication devices; Synquest and basic computer skills. GNA licensure and BLS CPR certification with American Heart Association (AHA) required. Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
